In its 10th year, the Women in Business Awards, “recognizes women in Wichita who have created successful careers and worked to improve their companies and their community.”
Flax began her career at High Touch in 1997. Currently, Flax heads the department that’s responsible for procuring hardware, managing vendor relationships, and managing inventory. In 2015, Flax was selected to the inaugural Wichita Business Journal’s Emerging Leaders class.
“Her role is about developing strong relations, negotiating hardware and software client needs and registering for those items in large rollout project situations for our clients. Ultimately, Brenda’s role results in a more positive overall experience for our internal teams that manage our clients on a day-to-day basis,” states High Touch President and CEO Derrick Nielsen.
When Flax isn’t working, she’s busy traveling with her children between sporting events. She has four children, all who participate in competitive sports. There’s no shortage of baseball or volleyball games on her calendar.
“I believe the most important thing I have shown women at High Touch is that with dedication and hard work, you can move up within a company,” states Flax. “I have not backed down from challenges and I think that is what women recognize.”
The Wichita Business Journal will recognize Flax, along with 26 other honorees, at the Women in Business Luncheon in August.
