Denver – (November 19, 2019) – Ross Jordan, Director of Operations and our High Touch Denver team were recently featured in an article by local Scripps affiliate Denver7 titled, “Biggest cybersecurity risk to US businesses is employee negligence.”
The article highlights Ross’s expertise, discussing how to educate employees on the importance of cybersecurity in the workplace. As described by Ross, phishing attacks are the most prominent types of attacks plaguing business today. “Somewhere between 85 and 95 percent of successful attacks on organizations now stem from phishing,” “Phishing is something that’s usually sent out by bots. Literally just blasted out to hundreds if not thousands of emails at a time. And they’re hoping for that one naïve person to follow the link, and when they do, you’re literally opening the doors to the kingdom.”
states Ross. As illustrated by Ross, keeping employees educated on cybersecurity best practices is essential to keeping your business safe online. Oftentimes, hackers only need a small tidbit of information to breach a system. Hackers continue to develop more sophisticated cyberattacks, tricking employees into unknowingly revealing sensitive information, such as usernames, email addresses, and account numbers.
“You can have the most advanced cybersecurity solution on the market. If hackers can steal the system’s login credentials from an employee, it’s essentially giving them the key to your front door,” states Ross.Read The Denver7 Article
