Testimonial – Custom Software Development

After taking ownership of Special Products in 2016 and spending two years learning the durable medical field and our workflows, we were finally ready to invest in software for our business. We were looking for a platform that incorporated our patient database with our electronic health records, supply inventory, and our electronic billing and payment system. We searched nationwide for a company that could provide the software we needed. Very quickly, we realized that the software available was either too complex for what our niche market needed or too expensive with a long-term, subscription-based price tag.

Initially, what sparked our search for a new software platform was that we were using 8 different applications for most of our patients (QuickBooks, calendaring, billing, medical records, and more). Unfortunately, none of the available platforms met our needs in terms of pricing, functionality, or features.

We heard of a local business owner’s experience working with High Touch and building their own software for their industry. The thought of building our own software platform and having a direct impact on our industry, entirely specialized for our area, was exciting. After we met with the High Touch team, we knew this was the direction we wanted to go.

Throughout the development process, High Touch researched, listened, and kept us involved, bringing the software and our business to life. The platform we developed has completely streamlined our entire workload. In fact, we’ve grown our business threefold without a considerable amount of overhead. Tasks that used to take three days to complete in our billing department now take less than 10 minutes. We’ve been able to securely work remotely, go paperless, and improve our receivables. We’ve even processed a single point of entry, from intake to delivery, within hours—something that would’ve been difficult before the software.

Additionally, we’ve reduced our billing errors and have seamless patient follow-up care—no more papers files sitting on someone else’s desk. Simply put, we’re more consistent, more efficient, and more accurate.

During the project, we appreciated our constant communication with the High Touch team. In the early stages, the team was curious and very engaged in understanding our industry. We could tell they wanted to engineer the best version of the software platform we had in mind. We didn’t even have everything down on paper, except a list of what we needed. As the project evolved, we couldn’t wait to implement the software immediately, and the team did a great job of measuring and understanding our excitement. Honestly, their ability to interpret our thoughts and capture the necessity of what we needed to accomplish continues to impress us.

One of High Touch’s major selling points for us is their ability to troubleshoot quickly. When we reach out to the team with a question, screenshot, frantic email, or panicked phone call, the High Touch team helps us feel secure—much more than calling through a directory like most software companies. High Touch’s customer service is stellar. They listen and find a solution quickly.

Watching the platform come to life and witnessing its positive impact on our company have been a joy and a relief. Communications and upfront expectations have really helped, especially since we knew nothing about software development before we visited with High Touch. We appreciate the transparency and authentic support we’ve received.
