A Steady Hand Behind the Scenes
If you were to peek behind the curtain of our daily operations at High Touch Technologies, you’d find Jason Slade quietly helping to keep everything running smoothly. As our Network Operations Center (NOC) Manager, Jason may not seek the spotlight, but that’s exactly where his strengths shine the brightest.
Cool-headed with a knack for thinking two steps ahead, Jason is the kind of person you want on your team when systems need to stay reliable, and clients are counting on you. He thrives behind the scenes, ensuring our clients’ technology environments are stable, secure, and performing at their best.
“If I’m doing something, I’m going to do the best job I can, no matter how big or small the task is,” Jason shares. “I like knowing that I’m helping our customers be successful in whatever their business may be by providing the best service and solutions I possibly can.”

Managing the Backbone of IT
As NOC Manager, Jason oversees the team that’s responsible for some of the most critical, yet often invisible, parts of IT—monitoring outages, managing backups, applying software patches, handling licensing, and more.
“We do a lot of stuff under the hood for our clients,” he explains. “It’s not always visible, but it’s essential. We’re the safety net that keeps things running, even when nobody realizes there’s a problem.”
It’s a role that requires attention to detail, a proactive mindset, and a strong sense of accountability—all qualities Jason brings to the table.
Keeping Clients Connected
When asked about a project he’s particularly proud of, Jason points to his work managing network services for High Touch’s rent-to-own and restaurant point-of-sale clients.
These include customers who rely on cynergi|suite, our leading-edge POS platform designed specifically for rent-to-own companies, and Nigel, our cloud-based POS system built in collaboration with Thrive Restaurant Group for the fast-paced restaurant industry.
“It’s a critical job because without a functioning network, nothing else in IT works,” Jason says. “I find a lot of value in making a positive impact—knowing that what I do helps our clients keep serving their customers.”
His work might not be visible to clients, but it’s the reason Nigel and cynergi|suite operate seamlessly. By keeping networks strong, Jason gives clients the freedom to focus on their business instead of their infrastructure.
Building a Career in Technology
For Jason, being successful at work isn’t about job titles or flashy wins—it’s about showing up with the right attitude every day.
“I believe in doing my best no matter what the task is,” he emphasizes. “It could be something small, but I still want to do it well. That’s just how I operate.”
Jason didn’t originally set out to work in technology. In fact, he earned a business degree in college. But after graduation, a friend working in IT introduced him to the world of tech, and the rest is history.
“He made it sound fun, and I just went for it,” Jason laughs. “I kind of fell into it, but once I got started, I realized it was a great fit.”
Now, with years of experience under his belt, Jason’s curiosity and problem-solving have made him a critical piece of our NOC team.
17 Things You Might Not Know About Jason Slade
As part of our Employee Spotlight interview, we ask a series of lighthearted questions to highlight the unique, diverse personalities that make our High Touch team great. Jason keeps systems running like clockwork—but when it comes to Chiefs game-day superstitions, all bets are off (and yes, he will change venues if it means a win).
1. If you could move to any other High Touch market (location), which one would you choose?
Denver. Although it pains me since the Broncos are from there, it would be nice to be close enough to all of the good hiking trails.
2. If you could jump into a pool of anything of your choosing, what would you fill it with?
Cold, hard cash—as long as I get to keep it.
3. What’s one quirky thing people don’t know about you?
I’m not sure about quirky, but a fun fact about me is that I’m a local radio and TV commercial star. I’ll let you figure out what commercial…
4. Is a hot dog a sandwich?
Ummm, no.
5. What was your first job?
Pizza Hut. Making pies.
6. Does a cyclops wink or blink?
I’m not an expert in this area.
7. What’s something you wish you could automate?
Acquiring knowledge.

Yes. 2 cats.
11. What’s the most awkward thing you do on a regular basis?
I’m never awkward. OK, that’s a lie.
12. What’s your spirit animal and why?
Elephant. I just absolutely love elephants. They are so intelligent.
13. Would you rather go 30 days without your phone, or three months with no dessert?
Three months with no dessert. I don’t love sweets, but I see no way to function in my job without my phone with current multifactor authentication requirements…

Yes—all about the Chiefs. If the Chiefs lose while I’m at a location, I will not watch a Chiefs game there again (other than my home—kind of stuck there).
15. What’s something you always do wrong the first time?
Seems like cooking anything.
16. If you had a warning label, what would it say?
