Sedgwick County Fair Association

“The Sedgwick County Fair Association was an early adopter of the idea that a website would help us run a more successful event. 20 years later, our site was literally held together with technology’s version of duct tape and baling wire. Then, in the deep of winter when we pay little attention to the site, hackers tried to obtain financial information from our ticket sales. Thankfully, they didn’t get past the firewall on the High Touch servers, but it was a wake-up call that our site needed a complete overhaul. Six months later, we had a shiny new site with robust security, a crisp modern feel, and easier navigation.

Then, came the challenge of getting the site ramped up for this year’s fair. The Association is completely run by volunteers, so we had to make the site accessible for a wide range of people with differing technology skills. The site also had to accommodate various financial transaction and confirmations. Our web developer at High Touch just plowed through the problems, helping me master WordPress enough to be able to run the site during fair week. The site also functions extremely well on mobile devices, which is an added bonus that generated a lot of positive praise during the fair. It was so nice to have the experience and expertise we needed in a one-stop shop, and we’re definitely going to sleep better this winter knowing that High Touch Technologies has our back.“
