About the Evening With Envision Gala
Held at the B-29 Doc Hangar, the 2024 Evening With Envision Gala invited attendees to dress in black, white, and red—honoring the signature white cane, a symbol of independence for people who are blind or visually impaired.
The gala serves as Envision’s largest fundraising event, with proceeds from the event helping to support vital programs such as early intervention for babies and preschoolers, assistive technology camps for teens, summer camps like Heather’s Camp, and art classes through the Envision Arts Program. They also fund support groups, social activities, and employment opportunities for people who are blind or visually impaired. Additionally, proceeds contribute to low vision research, public education on eye health, comprehensive rehabilitative services, and much more.
Attendees from High Touch included Heath Howard (Director of Development), Andrew Kon (Regional Director of Technology Solutions), Clay Carson (Senior Vice President of Technology Solutions), Diana Harris (Manager of Client Success), and Kevin Colborn (Senior Vice President of Network Operations and CIO).
Opening Remarks: Kevin Colborn – A Personal Connection
Our very own Kevin Colbourn had the honor of kicking off the evening on behalf of the 150 employee-owners at High Touch. In his heartfelt speech, Kevin shared a personal story that resonated deeply with the audience.
“Like many of you here this evening, I have a loved one who’s been impacted by vision loss. My mom, a strong and independent woman, has seen her life change as her vision has slowly deteriorated due to macular degeneration. It’s been a challenging journey—one we never anticipated,” Kevin shared.
“Yet, through it all, I am hopeful. My mom has a wonderful support system, including my dad, who helps her navigate these challenges. And we are fortunate to have organizations like Envision, which offers resources, solutions, and, most importantly, hope. They help people like my mom, and so many others, continue to live their lives with dignity and independence.”
Kevin’s speech highlighted High Touch’s dedication to Envision’s mission, emphasizing that this partnership goes beyond business. “As a technology partner, we’re committed to ensuring that Envision has the tools and support it needs to serve our community. For the 150 employee-owners I represent, this partnership is personal. It’s not just about business—it’s about making a real, meaningful impact.”
