As High Touch’s HR Generalist, Meagan is a driving force, often behind the scenes, helping build a culture of excellence for the company’s employee-owners. She plays a pivotal role in shaping an environment that fosters employee growth, well-being, and excellence. Her contributions extend across the spectrum of human resources management, encompassing performance management, employee relations, coaching, development, recruitment, and employee onboarding.
Initially embarking on an accounting journey while she was in college, Meagan quickly learned that an accounting career wouldn’t encompass all the people aspects she was looking for as a professional. “However, I did enjoy the analytical and problem-solving elements,” she states. “I decided to make the change and earn a bachelor’s degree in human resources management with an accounting minor, and I’m very thankful.”
On her professional journey, Meagan notes that she has been fortunate to have not one but two mentors who have helped shape her trajectory in HR. “My former manager, Jessica Sauber, provided me with a solid foundation during my early days. Her guidance and expertise were invaluable, and I’m grateful for the knowledge I gained,” states Meagan. “Currently, I’m privileged to have Nici Duncan as my mentor at High Touch. Through her guidance and support, I continue to grow both as an HR professional and as a leader.”
Navigating the human resources landscape presents a unique set of challenges. In the WBJ article, Meagan highlights the evolving nature of the competitive job market, especially within the dynamic IT sector. “Recruiting top talent has become daunting, requiring innovative and creative strategies to stand out from other companies,” Meagan shares.
Also, in the article, Meagan details that she loves what she does and is passionate about the positive impact she can make in her role at High Touch. “Working across various HR domains allows me to continually grow and explore new facets of my field,” Meagan states. “The incredible people I have the privilege of collaborating with daily inspire me and excite me to be part of this profession for the long haul.”
