Wichita, Kan — (February 26, 2021) — Nici Duncan, Vice President of Human Resources at High Touch Technologies, has recently been announced as a member of the Advance Kansas Class XIII.
“I’m excited for the opportunity to participate in the program and expand my knowledge about diversity and inclusion alongside other leaders in our community,” states Duncan. “Even better, taking this experience and sharing it with the team at High Touch will help us strengthen our diversity and inclusion efforts as an organization.”
About Advance Kansas
A community strengthening program facilitated by Butler Community College, Advance Kansas, “Brings together people who are already leaders from across the community to create and strengthen relations and acquire skills for addressing diversity challenges and opportunities in business, organizations, and the community.” Advance Kansas strives to go beyond the boundaries of a typical diversity training class to “bring everyone into the definition of diversity to consider how differences in race, gender, generation, sexual orientation, geographical orientation, culture, knowledge, experience, perception, etc., impact the lives of individuals and organizations, and how well-prepared leaders can leverage those differences in support of their mission.”
During the 5-session, 5-month program, participants learn about their “diversity blind spots,” states Advance Kansas. “They come away with focused decision-making skills and a deep knowledge of how to effectively manage and lead increasingly diverse employees, clients, suppliers, and constituents.”
Advance Kansas Nomination
Duncan joins the Advance Kansas program after completing a nomination, application, and acceptance process. Qualified nominees receive invitations to attend a participant briefing before completing an application for their upcoming session.
For 2021, 44 leaders from across Wichita-area businesses and organizations will be participating in the program.
