Wichita, Kan.—(December 15, 2023)—Technology is a dynamic industry. Working in an innovative and challenging arena, Nichole Gibb, High Touch’s Business Applications Administrator Lead, has received well-earned recognition as a rising leader among major Wichita companies.
We’re thrilled to share that Nichole has been recognized with the Young Professionals in Major Companies Award by the Wichita Business Journal (WBJ). Not only is this accolade a feather in Nichole’s cap, but it is also a testament to the exceptional contributions Nichole makes day in and day out at High Touch.
About the 2023 Young Professionals in Major Companies Award
The Young Professionals in Major Companies Award is part of the WBJ’s ongoing Young Professionals series, spotlighting individuals who show promise as future leaders of Wichita and its communities. To be considered, all award recipients have been nominated by a peer, mentor, or leader.
Profile: Nichole Gibb
Since she joined the High Touch team in 2016, Nichole has blazed her own trail, currently serving as Business Applications Administrator Lead. In this role, she oversees the comprehensive support of internal applications and associated processes.
“I always describe myself as a wrangler of cats, extinguisher of fires, and wearer of many hats,” Nichole laughs.
Nichole’s responsibilities include managing our client record system meticulously to ensure seamless operations. “I also engage with various applications essential to our organization’s functionality, supporting all our fantastic people,” Nichole smiles.
Building a Career at High Touch
Nichole’s journey with High Touch began during her tenure at Sheplers, where she worked with Josef Hamilton, a former High Touch employee. “At that time, High Touch needed help with agreement billing and recurring reporting,” Nichole recalls. “Eventually, my inquisitive nature led me to take ownership of applications, paving the way for my current responsibilities.”
In the WBJ profile, Nichole credits the late Tracy Lucas, former Vice President of Administration at High Touch, as a pivotal mentor in shaping her professional career. “Tracy was the epitome of grit and grace, and her influence encouraged me to attack my position with the same determination,” Nichole states.
Embracing the Challenges of Working in Technology
In her role, Nichole is always up against the ever-evolving landscape of technology, with many recent challenges stemming from integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into the industry. Navigating the foundation and trajectory of AI presents a new set of hurdles, but as Nichole points out, those challenges are opportunities for growth and learning.
When asked if this would be her career long-term, it was a decisive “yes” from Nichole. “I absolutely love what I do,” Nichole states. “The stars aligned, and I found myself in a role that I couldn’t imagine exchanging for anything else. It’s not just a job; it’s a passion. I plan to hang out in this space until I’m done.”
