A Spotlight on Wichita’s Technology Professionals
Wichita, Kan. — (March 24, 2023) — We’re excited to announce that Jason Fenoglio, Cybersecurity Practice Manager at High Touch Technologies, has been recognized by the Wichita Business Journal as part of the publication’s Young Professionals in Technology series.
This monthly installment published by the WBJ recognizes young professionals whose achievements set them apart as the next generation of city and community leaders. Here, we’ll share highlights from the article, as well as dive into Jason’s journey into the technology industry, his role at High Touch, and his insights into the challenges and opportunities in cybersecurity.
Profile: Jason Fenoglio
As our Cybersecurity Practice Manager, Jason plays a critical role in ensuring that our organization and clients are equipped with all the necessary security controls to protect against cyberthreats. His responsibilities include assessing, implementing, and reviewing administrative, technological, and physical security controls within our organization and scaling these best practices to our clients.
Jason got his start in the technology industry in the late 90s as a Workstation Technician with Boeing, where his primary responsibility was resolving computing issues on-site at the company’s Wichita campus. He credits his grandfather, an electrician, for sparking his interest in working in technology. “Even though the work we did was outside of how I use technology today, it was a building block for how I learned to problem solve, and that method is still successful for me,” states Jason.
With his deep knowledge and experience in cybersecurity, Jason is passionate about helping organizations transform their business culture to better protect their data. “Transforming business culture to be successful in protecting their data is an incredible challenge that security professionals will always face,” states Jason. “In many cases, adjusting practices is required before technological controls can be implemented to be effective.”
He also notes that many organizations assume that protecting their business comes at a considerable cost, which isn’t always the case. “I believe in getting that message across to companies with an internet presence in any industry. There are many small layers of security that can be applied by implementing tools that many organizations already have but never use.”
For Jason, being able to explore all aspects of technology and helping others explore new ways of securely improving their business processes will remain a long-term endeavor in his career. Jason states, “Securing an organization’s data reaches into the entire technology stack but also incorporates how companies use technology effectively.”
